THEMATIC WORKSWORDS FROM STONES

Words from stones is a dialogue between natural phenomena and the artwork. Drawings on stones, and collected natural objects found on walks, in the garden or on holiday form the basis for works on paper or canvas. The resulting word compositions and calligraphical works evolved from these natural forms and colours. Each stone corresponds to a particular canvas, work on paper, or book; it forms a pair with that work: Paper and stone, canvas and stone, book and stone relate to and support each other to create a special aesthetic quality. A section of this project was shown in Venice at the Musei Civici Venezia in the exhibition, La Poetica Dello Spazio Scritto, the poetry of the written space.
