THEMATIC WORKS HERE AND NOW

Here and now deals with the concept of time, not merely the present moment of the title, but also percieved time, past, present, and future. Individual words taken from chains of association fill a variety of books with calligraphy, and are created to represent either past, present or future. Thus, future is expressed by using white lettering on white paper, and suggests that that which is to come is perhaps already written, but is still invisible to us. The present shows(light permeable?) (transparent?) foil because what has been and what is to come meet in the present. The books vary enormously though the words recurr, and this refers to the the fact that the human condition remains unchanged. Another symbol can be seen in the book series, where a set of the same format with matching covers, belong together in a slip case, standing for a life-time made up of moments. Each moment is significant, but needs to be seen in the context of the whole life.
